Spread the love to these regional restaurants this Valentine's Day
This is a paid piece from the Lincoln and Minnehaha County Economic Development Associations.
Love is in the air (even if it's too cold to really feel it).
But weather aside, regional restaurants are here to keep you warm, well-fed and well-loved this Valentine's Day.
What people are saying:
"The cold weather months can be slow for area businesses. This weekend gives people the perfect opportunity to show some love to local restaurants, have a nice meal and enjoy a romantic night out," said Jesse Fonkert, executive director of the Lincoln and Minnehaha County Development Associations.
Places to check out:

Find it at 117 E. Fifth St. #1731 in Canton
What they offer: Five courses.
Their Valentine's Day menu starts with asparagus prosciutto straws and bacon-wrapped Boursin cheese dates in the appetizer and ends with a chocolate ganache tart. In between you've got a choice of braised beef cheek, Chilean sea bass or roasted pheasant breast.
What else do I need to know? The meal is $54.95 per guest, and reservations are required. Call 605-368-1945 to snag a spot.
Papa's Pub & Eatery
Find it at 425 E. Fourth Street in Dell Rapids.
What they offer: Prime rib.
The restaurant is offering a prime rib feature meal for Valentine's Day with a surprise feature dessert. Click here to drool over dessert photos.
What else do I need to know? They're not taking reservations, so know that a little extra patience may be required. Good thing you'll have good company.
Hartford Steak Co. Tavern
Find it at 709 N. Mundt Ave., Highway 38 in Hartford.
What they offer: Steak. Or, a chance to win.
The Hartford steakhouse is true to its name. The beef-based eatery serves up prime rib every weekend and a variety of filet mignons, burgers, steak tips and, to round it all out, cheesecake for dessert.
What else do I need to know? They're giving away a prime rib dinner for two on their Facebook page to one lucky couple. Enter to win.
Not hungry?
The Sioux Falls area has more to offer than just food (though, let's be real, the food is pretty good).
Try putting on your favorite playlist and driving through Newton Hills State Park. If you're feeling bold enough, you can even bundle up and check out the observation tower. (But really bundle. It'll be below zero.)
Bonus points: Stop by The Garden Shed Floral on 5th Street in Canton for a Valentine bouquet. They have special hours for the weekend:
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
