Happy Tuesday! Megan here.
I know it’s hard to believe, but we’re already 70% of the way through 2022.
So much has happened this year! Instead of rushing through the rest of it, I want to take a moment to share some of my favorite Sioux Falls Simplified stories:
- This couple is turning a vacant lot into an urban farm. This story was part of a larger sustainability series that we published in April.
- How maternity leave for teachers is changing. A local teacher shared concerns about the lack of maternity leave policy in SFSD schools earlier this year. We brought you her story and also told you how it helped inspire change.
- Simplified Welcome Guide. We created this resource to help the newcomers feel informed about the community they're joining.
- We searched for the cheapest school supplies. Here's what we found. This story was written by our lovely intern Olivia, who searched out the cheapest school supplies for you.
- Get smart about Sioux Falls with Mayor Paul TenHaken. Mayor TenHaken helped kick off our new Get Smart series that introduces you to local people who are making a difference.
We were able to tell these stories thanks to reader support.
If you want to see more articles like these from Sioux Falls Simplified, would you please support our work today?
Thank you,
Megan Raposa
