There is space for you to heal

This is a paid piece from Selah Space.

Simplified: Selah Space, a Sioux Falls holistic wellness cooperative, opened three years ago this month with the mission of bringing healing to all aspects of a woman's life – mind, body and spirit. The mission is the same, but the depth and breadth of the cooperative's offering has grown tremendously. Here's what you need to know ahead of the grand re-opening.

Why it matters

  • Founder and Owner Jada Dobesh created Selah Space in 2020 for the women who are, as she puts it, "technically fine." They're busy. They're taking care of their kids, work, households, all while ignoring or putting off caring for their own needs.
  • Three years later, Selah Space is celebrating an expansion that doubles its footprint and makes room for 10 providers with a wide range of healing expertise from mental health to physical therapy to massage to sound healing.
  • The expansion means clients can meet their healing needs under one roof with a team of providers who work together to offer a full range of care.
"This is my best version of creating that village that women need," Dobesh said. "This is the safe space filled with safe women who want you to succeed, who want you to be healthy and who are going to fight for your holistic healing."

Tell me more about the providers

Here's a rundown:

  • Dobesh specializes in spiritual healing through spiritual direction, reiki and brain spotting, as well as programs to help women connect with and heal their menstrual cycles.
  • Katrina Yde, founder of Forward Counseling, offers mental health and addiction counseling.
  • Marysa Warnhoff, founder of Uprise Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, is a doctor of physical therapy and certified pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist who works to help women support their pelvic floors.
  • Heather Wilde offers trauma-informed massage and yoga.
  • Jana Phelps is a registered nurse who specializes in sound healing.
  • Melissa Bunkers is a family nurse practitioner certified in functional medicine. She's also the founder of Revive IV Lounge which operates in Selah Space.
  • Amber Groeneweg offers integrative psychiatry services.
  • Pauliina Parris is a tea sommelier, who will be teaching classes and selling tea.

And even more providers are coming soon, including:

  • Sara Vaca, who works as a lactation consultant and bereavement doula.
  • Kat Gieser, a holistic health coach.

It's all about providing holistic care, both in big ways and in small, Dobesh said. That means caring about everything from how motherhood is going, to how your period is going to how work is going and finding ways to heal all of the areas that need support.

"We've got services that are kind of 'out there' for the Midwest," she said. "But the difference at Selah Space is that we really take the 'spirit' part of mind, body and spirit healing seriously."

The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.

After that, there'll be an open house where you can explore the new space, chat with all of the providers, shop, build your own mocktail and enter to win giveaways.
