Stay in the holiday spirit this week with this list of holiday-themed events. If you're looking to shop around or give back, there's a handful of things going on this week.
- Grow your heart three sizes.* The Sioux Falls Convention Center is turning into a winter wonderland fundraiser for 10 local nonprofits on Dec. 15 for "Grouchmas." This 21+ event will have delicious food, chances to win prizes and a game of "The Grouch is Right." Get your tickets here.
- Holiday read-aloud. Meet Mrs. Claus and listen to her read a story with REACH literacy on Saturday. Head to the source between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for some bookish holiday fun. Details here.
- Learn how to host. Visit the free holiday table session at Look's Marketplace on Saturday at 12 p.m. to learn about appetizers, meals, florals, and more hosting-how-tos for the holiday season. Details here.
- Crafts and cookies and cocoa. Stop by the parking garage by 10th Street and Mall Avenue to decorate a cookie, make a craft and drink some hot chocolate. The parks department will have everything set up between 10:30 a.m. and noon on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Details here.
- Shop with cheer. The Hello December Market at Convolo is on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Find gifts from local vendors like Wonderfully Made Gifting Co and The Dog Mom Society. Details here.
- Blanket bonanza. Get in the holiday spirit by making and donating blankets for families in need with Project Warm-Up. Blankets can be made at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or you can donate blankets at that time. Details here.
