Simplified: Selah Space, a nonprofit holistic wellness cooperative, is innovating the way women receive their health care, self-care and more. The organization is also finding new, innovative ways to fundraise with a series of events aimed at play and camaraderie. Here's what you need to know about Seasonal Soirees.

Why it matters

  • Selah Space is home to a wide variety of wellness providers, from mental health counselors to massage therapists to reiki to pelvic floor physical therapy. Many of these services are critical to women's health, but often insurance doesn't play nicely when it comes to coverage.
  • That's why the organization is looking to the community for support in helping ensure women get the healing they need while providers also get the compensation they deserve.
  • Seasonal Soirees is a series of quarterly events which will not only raise money to support the work of Selah Space, but also give attendees space to build connections, play and share stories.
"Worst case scenario, this is a fun event," Selah Space Founder Jada Dobesh said. "Best case scenario, you find a home with us."

Tell me more about Selah Space

Selah Space opened in 2020 and converted to a nonprofit in 2024 to better serve providers and meet the needs of clients.

By switching to a nonprofit status, Selah Space can help offset the cost of care to women who are healing through anyone in the organization's network of providers. Find a full list of providers here.

The Seasonal Soirees – in addition to raising funds to support healing journeys for women going through divorce, loss, major surgery or other life transitions – will also give people who've benefitted from Selah Space providers over the years a way to give back.

"We want to create the village," Dobesh said. "We want women to be the ones supporting the ones healing women. We want the people who have healed to feel a sense of purpose and have a place to put that."

Tell me more about the events

The first event in Seasonal Soirees is "Blossom," which will take place Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at White Space Studio.

  • Attendees will get to craft flower crowns with the help of celebrity floral artists, enjoy decadent desserts and join a vibrant community of women who believe in the power of healing, care and support.

Future events include:

  • "Splash" on June 26, which will involve paddle board yoga,
  • "Harvest" on Sept. 18, which will likely involve dinner and wine,
  • and "Glow" on Dec. 11, which will give people a chance to enjoy Selah Space's central Sioux Falls location, shop local vendors and get holiday gifts wrapped by a celebrity gift wrapper.
